Your school board may already have an OCEA School Board Subscription (SBS). Please check with your School Board Lead before purchasing an individual membership online.
If you purchase an individual membership and later learn that your school board has an SBS for the same school year, you have 45 days from the date of purchase to request reimbursement. After 45 days, no refund will be issued.

OCEA offers membership options for both Ontario school boards and individuals. Start by choosing the option that best describes how you’re joining.
For School Boards
School Board Subscription
Designed for Ontario school boards that want to provide OCEA membership access to multiple eligible educators involved in Cooperative Education and Experiential Learning.
Best choice if:
Your board wants one subscription that can support participation by eligible educators across the board.
For Individuals
Individual Membership
For educators and professionals who are joining OCEA independently and need a membership option that reflects their role or professional status.
Options include:
Statutory, Non-Statutory, Retired and Associate Membership.

For Ontario School Boards
2026–2027 School Board Subscription
The OCEA School Board Subscription (SBS) provides a convenient way for Ontario school boards to offer OCEA membership to eligible educators across their board. Annual subscription rates are based on the number of Secondary, Alternative and Adult Education schools within the school board.
Unlimited Eligible Members
There is no limit to the number of eligible educators who can apply for OCEA membership using their school board’s SBS code.
Board-Wide Access
The SBS can support eligible educators working at the K–12, Adult Education, Alternative Education and school board levels.
Simple Annual Invoicing
School boards can request an invoice for the annual subscription and indicate when they would like the invoice issued.
Who Can Be Included in a School Board Subscription?
The School Board Subscription is not limited to Cooperative Education teachers. It is intended for eligible teachers and school board educators who are involved in or support Cooperative Education and other forms of Experiential Learning.
This may include educators connected with Cooperative Education, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), School-Work Transition Programs, Career Education, Dual Credits, Guidance, Job Shadowing, Job Twinning, Work Experience and other Experiential Learning programs.
How Does a School Board Purchase an SBS?
To purchase a 2026–2027 School Board Subscription for eligible K–12, Adult Education, Alternative Education and school board-level educators, contact OCEA and request to be invoiced for the 2026–2027 School Board Subscription (SBS).
You may also indicate when you would like the invoice issued, such as immediately or at a later date during the school year.

Honourary & Lifetime Membership
Honourary Membership
An individual may be designated as an Honourary Member by the OCEA Board when they have supported the Objects of the Association in an exemplary fashion. Honourary Members are not required to pay an annual membership fee.
Lifetime Membership
The OCEA Board of Directors may recognize an individual as a Lifetime Member for an outstanding contribution to Cooperative Education, Work Experience, Student Success, School-Work Transition or OYAP programs. Lifetime Members are not required to pay an annual membership fee.

Who can become an OCEA member?
OCEA offers membership options for Ontario educators and professionals involved in or supporting Cooperative Education, Experiential Learning, Work Experience, Student Success, School-Work Transition, OYAP and related programs. Membership options are available for Ontario Certified Teachers, other education professionals, retired educators, teacher candidates and eligible AQ participants.
How long does an OCEA membership last?
The OCEA membership year runs from September 1 through August 31. Membership must be renewed for each membership year unless you hold an Honourary or Lifetime Membership designation.
What is an OCEA School Board Subscription (SBS)?
The School Board Subscription allows an Ontario school board to provide OCEA membership access to eligible educators across the board. The annual subscription fee is based on the number of Secondary, Alternative and Adult Education schools within the board.
There is no limit to the number of eligible educators who can apply for membership using their school board’s SBS code.
How do I know if my school board already has an SBS?
Check with your School Board Lead or the person responsible for Cooperative Education and Experiential Learning before purchasing an individual membership. If your board participates in the OCEA School Board Subscription program, eligible educators can use the board’s SBS code to apply for membership.
What is the difference between Statutory and Non-Statutory Membership?
Statutory Membership is for eligible educators and administrators who hold an Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification.
Non-Statutory Membership is for individuals involved in or supporting Cooperative Education and Experiential Learning who do not hold an Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification.
Can retired educators remain members of OCEA?
Yes. OCEA offers a reduced-rate Retired Membership for former educators who are fully retired and wish to remain connected with the OCEA community. Documentation confirming retirement is required.
Is there a membership option for teacher candidates or Cooperative Education AQ participants?
Yes. Associate Membership is available at a reduced rate to teacher candidates attending Teachers’ College and individuals taking Cooperative Education AQ Part One while completing the course. Proof of enrolment or course participation is required.
What benefits are included with OCEA membership?
Benefits include access to Members’ Only professional resources, reduced rates for OCEA events, provincial networking and professional learning opportunities, OCEA news and information, Student Certificates of Achievement, leadership opportunities and participation in OCEA’s professional awards and recognition programs.
Do OCEA members receive discounts for the Fall Symposium and Spring Conference?
Yes. Current OCEA members receive reduced member registration rates for OCEA’s annual Fall Symposium and Spring Conference.
How do I access OCEA Members’ Only resources?
You must be a current OCEA member and signed into your OCEA account to access Members’ Only files and resources.
What happens if I purchase an individual membership and later discover my school board has an SBS?

How do I join or renew my OCEA membership?
Existing members can sign into their OCEA account to manage their membership. New users can create an OCEA account and then select the appropriate membership option.

Individual Membership Fees
